College Office Update (Week of 9/29)

Good afternoon seniors!

Each week, look out for an update like this one that will give you the latest deadlines, updates, and resources to best help you in the college process.  We have tons of college representatives coming in his month, so be sure to scroll to the bottom for the list! SENIOR PARENT NIGHT

-        - This Wednesday night, 6-7:30 in Room 321

-         Join us for resources, a review of the college application process, and more!  

CUNY APPLICATION WORKSHOPS:

• Workshops will be held 8^th and 9^th periods every Wednesday in October (Oct 1^st, 8^th,  22^nd, 29^th).
• You must fill out the attached “Making the CUNY List” worksheet and meet with me before attending a CUNY Application Workshop!! This worksheet should include a list of 6 safety, target, and reach schools. Copies of this worksheet can also be found outside the college office.
• Once you fill out the worksheet, bring it to me for a FIVE minute meeting. Once the list is approved, you will receive a ticket to attend a CUNY Application Workshop.

**If you attended Summer College Seminar and are prepared with your list, come ASAP for a ticket- you are eligible for this Wednesday’s workshop.**   

UPCOMING COLLEGE FAIRS + Visits

-         - Barnard College HEOP Breakfast Program, THIS Thursday, October 2^nd at 7:45am: For females interested in Barnard College, located on the Upper West Side. We will hear from Admissions, Financial Aid, and their Opportunity Program Office, as well as tour the campus. We will return to the school by 12:45pm. See us for a permissions slip – ASAP!

-         - Hispanic College Fair @ Lehman College, Tuesday, October 7^th at 10:15 AM: ONLY 50 seniors can participate (you do not have to be Hispanic to attend), so pick up your permission slip from the college office today!

-         - Is Baruch College your top choice? Do you have at least a GPA of 85 and SAT of 1100 (CR + M)? You may be eligible to a special visit to Baruch for a day. Reach out to me if you’re interested. 

OCTOBER COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE VISITS
In the coming months, many admission representatives will be visiting the College Office! These include CUNYs, SUNYs, and private colleges. These representatives will most likely be the individuals reviewing YOUR applications. Meeting face-to-face with them is very important.  If you have class, please drop by the office for a special pass.
